Some answers to get you started!

Creating recipe cards is fun and easy! You can do it too! Here are some questions I had when I started. I hope these answers will help you get started much faster. Please reach me at maya@recipefourlife.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  • Create an account at https://www.avery.com/.
  • Under your profile, select Projects and then select “Create a New Project
  • Choose template #8387

Avery.com offers printing services, but they require a 50 sheet minimum purchase. It is best to buy a pack of Avery 8387 paper and print it in a good inkjet printer. I printed the cards in my home printer and it turned out great!

This is a good opportunity to learn 3D designing and printing.

  • 3D Design: Audodesk has a student edition with 1 year of free educational access. You can register for it at this link: Student and Education Software | 1-Year License | Autodesk Education Community. I created a box to fit the dimensions of my recipe card. Here is a video that shows how to make a box with this software https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iSBsBTMsGTk

  • 3D Printing:  Students can use their school email address at Shapeways.com and you will be eligible for student discount. https://www.shapeways.com/education. Your school or local library may also have a 3D printer that you can access and print.
